As part of my ‘complete or delete‘ project, I’ve added a set of new scores and minus tracks to my sites.
Pan Among the Reeds
The first of these is a project that has been waiting about 9yrs for me to do something with it, even though it is a project I adore: Pan Among the Reeds for Winds and Percussion. Subtitled, “A Drama for Musicians and Dancers,” it features the first Oboeist as a love interest for the Flute playing Pan. The piece is highly programatic, and even contains recitative-like dialogue between the Flute and Oboe 1. This dialogue is not sung, but used as a sort of expression marking. You can find Pan Among the Reeds in the new drop-down “Chamber Music” menu-button above along with more detailed information about the ‘story’ the piece represents. Take a look at the score, just for fun, and notice the dialogue.
American Revolutions : Minus Tracks and Lead Sheets
Also waiting several years, though something I’ve intended to do since the project’s conception, I’ve added lead sheets and minus tracks for the core of my American Revolutions program (this page also contains the narrative intros to the songs). Now any ‘medium voice’ vocalist can download the program and present it themselves.
I’ve added it to my ChoirWorks.com site because of the very real possibility that some choirs may wish to sing one or more of these songs in unison. Also, that site contains many arrangements, whereas this site contains, for the most part, original compositions. Lastly, I do hope to add arrangements for SSA, TTBB and SATB choirs for this program at some point in time and to have it all together with the Unison versions seems logical, rather than spreading it across the web.
Enjoy!
Harmony,
Ryan
