New Musings!
First of all, please check out the new essay I wrote for LDS Music Universe:
Also, I’ve written a series of four articles about putting health as a first priority and my weight loss progress for Classical Singer Magazine. They’ve asked me to write some updates on my progress for their blog. Here are the ones that have come out so far (more forthcoming):
- I Still Have a Long Way to Go
- Grappling with the Great Mystery that is Weight Loss
- Cutting it Out
- The Acts of the Desperate
As for my current state of being, between my 10th wedding anniversary, Valentines, my mother’s birthday, as well as a ‘thank you’ dinner for those serving on the American Fork Arts Council . . . I have been at a standstill for a while. That said, I have upped my amount of biking once again and am looking forward to nice weather so Dixie and I can go hiking again.
New Music! Or at least New Releases. :-)
- A vous sans autre by Antoine Busnoys on ChoirWorks.com : a scholarly edition prepared by moi.
- Three arrangements I am quite proud of have made their way into the Songs and Art Songs section of this site: Wondrous Love (with Piano Trio), Beautiful Savior and Wayfaring Stranger (with Trumpet obligato).
- Dracula’s Theme Song (solo or unison), a parody on the opening credits of the original Dracula film starring Bela Lugosi (featuring a melody from ‘Swan Lake’) has made its way to ChoirWorks.com : 2 keys are available.
- A children’s primary song, Be Strong and of a Good Courage is also now available for the first time.
Please enjoy! More music coming as part of my ‘complete or delete’ project. I’m glad to be making some progress through the backlog.
