First, what’s up:
- Emceeing for Concerts in the Park, each Monday 7pm through August 22nd at the American Fork Amphitheater. I’ll also be providing the preshow on August 8th, so if you’d like to hear me sing, please arrive at 6:45pm.
- Time to plan the Fall Semester for both the American Fork Children’s Choir and the new American Fork Ukulele Circle.
- Write some new music!
- Post all the music I’ve written and been too busy to get up to the web!
- As Summer School ends, Dixie will be off for a couple of weeks : go hiking!
What I’ve been working on this Summer:
- Early in the Summer I attended Intermuse at BYU to start the certification process for Kodaly. I picked up tons of great information and lots of ideas for teaching.
- The American Fork Children’s Choir Camp was a great success. We learned some great music and had fun doing it. Then we marched and sang in the American Fork Steel Days Parade. It was awesome.
- I was a little worried that we might have to cancel the Ukulele Camp we had planned, but then everyone signed up at the last minute and we had almost 70 participants. We had so many students registered that I could see the white board wasn’t going to work, so I put all my lessons and music on powerpoint . . . this was a massive undertaking and I was working around the clock to keep up, but it went well. Everyone seemed to enjoy the class and we performed as the preshow for American Fork Concerts in the Park and the audience loved the group.
I don’t know if that sounds like a lot or not, but it certainly has kept me hopping and I’m glad to have a few moments to write this and work on long postponed projects.
Ex Amore Victoria!
