The Necromancer : a fugue macabre

The Necromancer : a fugue macabre went through about five revisions before I was completely done with it, but it easily became my favorite of my own keyboard works. I wrote it in the spirit of the Sorcerer’s Apprentice by Dukas, and Danse Macabre by Saint-Saens : a little dark, but mostly fun.

Fantasy for Organ : based on a fractal algorhythm

  • FantasyForOrgan.pdf
  • FantasyforOrganLive.mp3 : As performed live in recital by the incomparable Neil Thornock . . . unfortunately the sound engineer cut of the first couple of seconds of this excellent performance, hence the fade-in.

This is an experimental piece that I created using fractal algorhythmic software and note subtraction. It is a fun piece that was featured once on when it first came out and has been performed by several organists, including Neil Thornock and Carson P. Cooman.
